Using Cell Phones in Public

Well, I started this blog with the intention of writing everyday. But I can see now, that sometimes I may be busy or may not have a subject to write about. So, that is why I haven't written in the last two days. Sorry. But, i will try and keep my promise to myself and write daily.

Today, I want to write about people who use cell phones in public. I have one, and I try to keep my conversations short. There are people who use them in public and realize that they might be bothering others in a coffee shop, or in line at the DMV, so they keep their voice down and try and finish quickly. I appreciate those people. Besides, I don't know about you, but I don't want to hear another person's conversation.

I'm talking about people who talk loud, and just don't care who is listening, or more importantly, if they are bothering anybody! Hey, that's why phone booths were invented! If you must make a phone call in a crowded room, please take it outside if possible. I realize that they will be times when this is not possible, like on a bus, so there are exceptions. If it is an emergency, then that is okay as people will understand. But people, come on. Use common sense. Try not to bother others. Respect others as they would respect you.

I also want to say hi to the men and women aboard the USS Ronald Reagan that is in the channel at Santa Barbara this weekend. I hope you enjoy your visit. Thank you for serving in the armed forces ( as well as all the other branches and soldiers in Iraq ) and for helping to insure our freedom.

If your new to reading my blog, please do not get the idea that I am only going to use this to complain. I plan to write about the good things that people do too. I hope you had a nice weekend. Stay safe.
Mike

What is the difference from talking to someone on the phone while sitting in a restaraunt than from have a "live" conversation in the same place. (Assuming you're not with other company while sitting there on the phone.)

Who decides what's polite and appropriate anyway?

I do find cell phone user to be rude in many situations. I wish there was a universal "agreement" everyone would have to sign when purchasing a cell phone.
