Keeping in touch with your family

I hope your enjoying your Sunday. Yesterday, my sister and her husband phoned me and asked since they were driving by, if they could stop by and visit me. My sister worries about my health as any sister would. I told them yes, I would love to see them. We spent the afternoon talking and catching up on the rest of my family. I have two older brothers, and two younger brothers. I also have another older sister. I was the middle kid. Which wasn't so bad actually. Anyway, we had a nice time and they wanted to go to Lake Piru which was nearby. They live in Paso Robles, California so it's hard for me to go and visit them. I can only sit in a car for about an hour before I get tired and start hurting. So we headed in that direction and I suggested that maybe we should go and visit Lake Casitas in Ojai. So we wound up going there and drove around. Later, we went to dinner and talked some more. They have a six year old Daughter and I loved spending time with my niece.

It was so nice of them to call me out of the blue, and surprise me. They often take trips on the weekends including camping out. As they left my brother-in-law, threatened to take me on their next boating trip. I told him okay, you got a deal. Unfortunately for me, he is always serious and means what he says, so I imagine in a month or two I will be on their next boating adventure. Oh, he does own a boat by the way.

It is so important to keep in contact with your family. I am ashamed to admit that I don't do it as much as I should, but yesterday reinforced that idea in me. We are only on this earth for a short period of time, and we should make the most of every minute we have. So, call your brother or sister, mom or dad just to say hi. Stay in touch, it's important to all of us.
