American Idol winner show not fair & other things

Tonight, David Cook was announced the winner of the latest American Idol program. I personally thought the other David (Archuletta) had a better voice and is a much better singer, but that's my opinion. There seems to be something wrong here. The other night, all three judges implied that David Archuletta should probably be the winner. America's viewers disagree with me. But that's okay. I have a few problems with this show, so I will mention just a few here. First of all the word Idol is described by Websters as "a representation or symbol of an object of worship: a false God." God commands in His word you shall have no other God's before me. They really should change the name of the show. During auditions, these poor kids get their hopes up, hoping to be selected, and when they are denied, some of them are just devastated and moved to tears. This shouldn't happen. Another point I'd like to make is the age limit by the producers. Folks, there are many, many talented people out there that can really sing, and some are senior citizens. This is discriminatory. Going back to the auditions, I can't believe that some of this contestants actually believe that they can carry a tune, only to be ridiculed by the judges when they are told that they are awful. You would think that their friends would be honest with them and let them know that they really can't sing. And then there is Simon Cowell, whose nasty comments are just too much to handle. I am so glad I don't follow this show weekly. I have viewed it from time to time just to see who can really sing. That's why I liked the show Americas Got Talent. At least they put people of all ages on televison and showed people with real talent! I don't even know if this show is still on the air. Anway, in my humble opinion, Fox should either revamp this show with new rules or just cancel the series. But as long as there are young teens nationwide wanting a hero today, this dreadful show will continue. In other news, looks like Obama is going to win the Democratic nomination, but you have to give it to Hillary for hanging in there even though she knows she doesn't stand a chance. I hope you all had a great day today, at least it's cooler weather wise in Ventura this week.
Gas is going to reach $4.00 a gallon very soon, and the oil companies today in Washington say that they are not to blame. Yeah right! Food prices continue to increase. I did shop at my local 99 cents store tonight for some things that I needed. I was surprised to find some items that I usually buy at the supermarket at a much higher prices, so I feel good about saving quite a bit of money tonight. Other than that, things are about the same. My pain level has been about the same. I keep during the day by reading, and then doing some writing including this blog. I have nothing planned for Memorial Day. I don't BBQ or go to the beach. Just going to be another day at home. How boring, huh? Until next time, take care.

Mike
